“My story has always been that I'd lose weight and then gain more. I can always do well at losing weight and dropping it fast, but then I'd bring that weight right back on.
I've tried every diet under the sun. When I went in to sign up for the Air Force, I had to drop like 25 pounds in order to go into the Air Force, so I went on a weight program and I’ve always been on weight programs since, so constantly it's been a battle with me. I've tried Weight Watchers, I've tried Atkins diet, I've tried essentially anything that was out there.
The way I'd always looked at diets before was depriving myself of things that I liked, things that I enjoyed to eat. There was always successes with losing weight, but it was through deprivation. And you can only do that for so long. Yeah, as long as you're restricting yourself, you're losing weight. But as soon as you get off of that program, whatever it is, then all the things that you haven't had those are the things that you crave.
Once we got started on Food Lovers Fat Loss, that was the learning experience, and the way that the program was laid out was so easy to follow. The way that you just grab little pieces of it along the way, and you learn a little bit at a time. It's not something where you have to buy certain foods and measure your foods. It was eating. They said, ‘The first thing we want you to do is to eat every two to three hours.’ And I said, ‘How can we go wrong with this program?’
My wife and I both like wine. We enjoy our wine. And when we heard that you can not only have a glass of wine, but you could also have a little piece of chocolate to go along with that, to help you in burning that fat … that was, that was a beauti- ful thing. We ate spaghetti. We ate lasagna. We ate pizza, we ate brownies, we ate cookies all of those things that nor- mally you are restricted from, you can have on this program. That's the beauty of it, is you can eat anything, just as long as balance your meal with the slow carbohydrates.
There is nothing that I have now that I wore ten months ago, not one thing. It would be ridiculous. Nothing fits anymore! When I started the Food Lovers Fat Loss Program, I didn't want to shop in a large guy’s store anymore, big and tall store, so that was actually one of the goals, and it's amazing now that I can go and shop in a normal store, and not have to sort through the clothes to try to find out a size that works for me.
100 pounds later, here I am. Everybody's been asking about, ‘How are you doing so good at this?’ And I tell everybody it's the best diet I've never been on. So I feel great, and it's been a fun ride.”
